Dr. Kimmel has been involved in academics and teaching his whole career. He is a Senior Clinical Instructor in the Department of Surgery, Case Western Reserve School of Medicine, Cleveland, Ohio. Where he teaches allopathic medical students the treatment of foot and ankle deformities. Dr. Kimmel was the residency director of the Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Residency, at the Louis Stokes Department of VA (Veterans Affairs), Cleveland, Ohio. A nationally recognized and accredited residency program treating our nation’s heroes. The Louis Stokes Department of Veterans Affairs, is the third largest Veteran’s Affairs Hospital in the country. He is also a clinical adjunct professor at Kent State College of Podiatric Medicine where he taught surgical skills. Over the years, he has trained over 1,000 residents and medical students. Dr. Kimmel has authored numerous papers and books on wound care and foot and ankle surgery.
